Encounter and shared responsibility in Mitte – “Woven Together: Shared Spaces, Shaped Identities.”
OngoingGermanyMI2026-24B
A day of encounter for the African diaspora and neighbours in Berlin-Mitte: story circles, discussion tables and a culture dinner – on site and online.
40–50
participants expected on site, plus 15–20 online
free
entry, with childcare and culture dinner
Berlin-Mitte is a diverse district: people from East Africa and across the African continent live door to door with long-standing neighbours – yet everyday exchange often doesn’t happen. And within the diaspora, the knowledge of the older generation and the lives of young people who grew up in Germany rarely meet in a safe setting.
Ubuntu Talks starts here. The name draws on the Ubuntu philosophy: “I am because we are.” Participants shape their neighbourhood – they are not recipients of help.
